The authors' concern in this book has been to provide a clear picture of the place of sanctions in the world and Iranian economy and, consequently, the economic mechanisms of its effect and consequences; Therefore, in the first part, an attempt has been made to address the theoretical dimensions and concepts related to sanctions. In this way, while drawing the dimensions of sanctions economy (Chapter 1), the functions of sanctions for sanctioners (Chapter 2), the political functions of sanctions (Chapter 3), the economic effects of sanctions and the costs of sanctions on target countries (Chapter 4) and The Experience of Sanctions in the Post-Cold War Era (Chapter 5); In the sixth chapter, some implications for policy-making are provided. These implications should have been explicitly or at least implicitly mentioned in the second part of the book (which deals with the Iranian economy) and specifically in the tenth chapter, entitled "Introduction to Confronting and Transition from Sanctions" and the approaches Confronting sanctions was suggested based on it, but these implications are not used in the second part of the book. The title of this section does not appear to have been properly selected; This section mainly deals with the concepts and issues related to sanctions, and only a small part of the fourth and major chapters of the fifth chapter is devoted to the study of economic sanctions in the world. At the beginning of the second part, the authors discuss the context. Firstly, the title is not consistent with the content, and the topics discussed are more about the types of sanctions, the nature of sanctions, the objective and psychological effects of sanctions. It was better for the authors to include these topics in the very first part of the book (albeit by changing the title of the first part according to the explanations mentioned in the above paragraph. Chapter 8 deals with the history of sanctions against Iran (although this chapter discusses the experience of sanctions against some countries, which is not compatible with the title of the chapter and should be presented in the first part of the book (Chapter 5). Issues in Iran's economy is examined in Chapter 9, and in Chapters 10 and 11, presented the discussions on coping and transition from sanctions as well as Iran's post-sanctions economy.
